This Life is Under Construction

I haven't posted anything in awhile. I'm in the process of figuring things out and working on improving my life with the help of a very good friend. As part of that process, I will try to post more regularly here.

Meanwhile, I'm craving coffee and cake from O'Georg but for now this photo will have to do. Drool.

Today, this blog made me smile.

List update: No. 24 and 25 in one go

In my life list for this year, I said I would

"24. start using night cream.

25. find a good under eye cream and use it daily. "

Today I went to Rustan's Supermarket by chance and found Pond's Flawless White
Light Infusing Under-eye Cream on sale at around 40% off.

It supposedly "wakes up eyes, visibly improves under-eye dark circles." This promise and the phrase "Light Infusing" plus the big discount convinced me to buy one. So a few minutes ago I started using it. I hope I will be diligent enough to use it daily so I can see if it really works.

I also found a sample of Belo Essentials Night Therapy, which I got when I watched the Ms. Cebu Pageant, and decided to try it as well. I'm not really a fan of whitening products but i've heard some good reviews. The consistency is a little thicker than I thought but it goes on smooth, absorbs quickly and smells nice. Let's see how it does in the morning.

Book 1 for January: A Hundred and One Days

Just a few days ago I was wondering what book to read this month for my target of reading 12 new books this year.
And so it came to pass that I met up with a former work colleague from my former life as an alternative lawyer and I brought him to Cagnaan Bookstore at the IT Park.
I think it was a case of the book finding me, as I literally stumbled into it.
A Hundred and One Days is written by Asne Seierstad, a journalist who documented her days and the people she met in Baghdad before and during the American invasion which is what this book is about.
She also wrote The Bookseller of Kabul, which is what drew me to the book. With a price tag of P99.00 (or around $2), it was very hard to resist.
So here's Book 1 for the year: A Hundred and One Days: Fear and Friendship in the Heart of a War Zone by Asne Seirstad.

12 for 12

It's been raining here all day so I was able to check off the first part of No. 26 of my list, the second part still remains to be seen =p. I realized after buying the umbrella that it seemed like such a cop out, so now I want to add something else as No. 26.

No. 26. Read 12 new books.

There are so many new books out there that i'm curious about and i figured one book a month won't be so hard to do.

Now i'm wondering what to read for January. Any suggestions?
