Book 1 for January: A Hundred and One Days

Just a few days ago I was wondering what book to read this month for my target of reading 12 new books this year.
And so it came to pass that I met up with a former work colleague from my former life as an alternative lawyer and I brought him to Cagnaan Bookstore at the IT Park.
I think it was a case of the book finding me, as I literally stumbled into it.
A Hundred and One Days is written by Asne Seierstad, a journalist who documented her days and the people she met in Baghdad before and during the American invasion which is what this book is about.
She also wrote The Bookseller of Kabul, which is what drew me to the book. With a price tag of P99.00 (or around $2), it was very hard to resist.
So here's Book 1 for the year: A Hundred and One Days: Fear and Friendship in the Heart of a War Zone by Asne Seirstad.
